Who is your hero?

My dad.


If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Melbourne


What was your first job?

Tutoring high school students.


If money was no object, what would you do all day?

Pretty much what I am doing right now – learning visual arts & performing arts, except that money isn’t no object.


What is your favourite book or movie?

Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder; La La Land.


If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Let’s help each other flourish so we won’t end up in that kind of situation.


Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

Hope.


Do you love or hate rollercoasters?

Hate.


What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?

EPIRB, Swiss knife, portable seawater desalinator.


What was your favourite subject in school?

Music.


Do you collect anything?

Friends.


Who was your favourite teacher? Why?

I don’t have one, because I learn things in my own way.


Why did you get involved in the production of “Flourishing”?

I thought it’s a theatre workshop …


Who is your favourite character in the show and why?

It will have to be my character. I’ll have to like “me” in order to be “me”. And I DO like my character! J


Florence Nightingale was known as the lady with the lamp because she spent time with her patients and really stepped into their darkness and cared for them. Who is a person who is not a family member who stepped into your life and helped you flourish?

There are too many of them. Lost count.


Vincent van Gogh dreamed of people being deeply moved by his art.

If you had all the talent in the world, what kind of art would you want to be creating?

Writing picture books.


Helen Keller once said: “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”

What is your “one thing” you can offer to help a person in a tough place flourish?

Listening to them in a non-judgmental way.


What messages, thoughts, and/or feelings would you like the audience to leave with after watching “Flourishing”?

No matter what your takeaway is after watching the show, do it, keep doing it, and don’t let it stop.
