Who is your hero?
My Mum is my hero. Her kindness, strength and selflessness is truly admirable to me.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Definitely somewhere warm and tropical!
What was your first job?
The first job I had was an assistant dance teacher. I helped teach ballet and jazz classes to young children in a dance studio.
If money was no object, what would you do all day?
I would spend my day outside exploring and relaxing in nature, listening to and playing my favourite music, dancing, spending time with animals and having fun with the people that I love.
What is your favourite book or movie?
A favourite book of poetry that I absolutely adore is ‘the sun and her flowers’ by Rupi Kaur.
A favourite movie of mine is ‘Rocketman!’.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I think it would be lasagna!
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
Music. I truly could not go a day without it!
Do you love or hate rollercoasters?
I love rollercoasters!
What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?
Water, food and a sturdy raft!
What was your favourite subject in school?
My favourite subject in school was music. I also really loved English and creative writing.
Do you collect anything?
No, not at the moment!
Who was your favourite teacher? Why?
One of my ballet teachers who was incredibly kind and patient. I appreciated the time, dedication and passion that she put into teaching and helping me to grow as a dancer. I always felt like she really believed in me and appreciated who I was.
Why did you get involved in the production of “Flourishing”?
When I first heard about Flourishing, I instantly knew that I wanted to be a part of this project. I care very deeply about mental health, and I love how this project supports and raises awareness for such an important cause. I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to meet and perform with a range of different people, whilst also helping to spread important messages of meaning and hope.
Who is your favourite character in the show and why?
My favourite character in the show would have to be Kendall. Her strength and bravery throughout her journey is truly inspiring. She shows belief, persistence and commitment to life after all that she has been through.
Florence Nightingale was known as the lady with the lamp because she spent time with her patients and really stepped into their darkness and cared for them. Who is a person who is not a family member who stepped into your life and helped you flourish?
An incredible music teacher that I had helped me to flourish, not only in my musical abilities, but also in myself as a person.
Vincent van Gogh dreamed of people being deeply moved by his art.
If you had all the talent in the world, what kind of art would you want to be creating?
I would really love to be composing and creating inspiring and uplifting music with other people. Music that connects with audiences and everyday people on a deep and meaningful level.
I believe that music is truly healing, and therefore I would love to gift this to people all over the world.
Helen Keller once said: “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”
What is your “one thing” you can offer to help a person in a tough place flourish?
I can always offer my kindness to someone who is in a tough place. Kindness can come in so many forms… a kind word, action, a smile, helping hand, or simply just being there for someone.
What messages, thoughts, and/or feelings would you like the audience to leave with after watching “Flourishing”?
I would like the audience to come away knowing that no matter what happens to us in life, there is always someone out there who is willing to listen and provide us with support (even when it doesn’t feel like it). To know that we can help each other to flourish in small ways every day, through simple acts of kindness, love and compassion.
I want people to feel inspired and hopeful about their future, and to know that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to keep going.
